CAfS Open House Visit to Key Moss Farm

Nicki Foot, who oversaw the renovation at Key Moss Farm gave a talk in conjunction with Cumbria Action for Sustainability  (CafS) on improvements made to the Georgian stone-built farmhouse.

Improvements included insulated limecrete floors beneath relaid original stone flags; external lime render to the stone walls, lime plaster internally combined with wood fibre insulation boards; restored original sash windows and shutters, replacement double glazed sash windows and external doors, restored original wooden floors, doors and features, new solid oak floor boards and other features. Building services include solar PV panels providing electricity, partial underfloor heating, and numerous other sustainable and discrete technologies.
